Man found hanging in Metro Parks accused of raping 14-year-old

4-23-2010 Ohio:

Anthony Pinkerton, the 36-year-old Elyria man who was found dead last night in the Metro Parks in an apparent suicide, had an arrest warrant issued for him yesterday on a rape charge.

He may have been dead for several days, however, because his car was recovered Saturday from a parking lot at the park.

Pinkerton is accused of raping a 14-year-old girl early Friday morning at a Logan Street home.

The victim told police that Pinkerton gave her and another girl vodka that they mixed with pop. The other girl threw up and then passed out in the living room, and the victim said she went to a bedroom to go to sleep about 1:30 or 2 a.m. Friday.

The victim said she was awakened because Pinkerton was on top of her in the bed and was raping her.

In the morning the victim told her friend, who told her aunt, who called police.

Metro Parks personnel found Pinkerton’s vehicle parked in the Burr Oak parking lot Saturday. Elyria police who responded found a note on the seat from Pinkerton to his daughter that said “I will love you always.”

According to a police report, Pinkerton’s daughter knew about the alleged rape and had not spoken to him since. ..Source.. by Rona Proudfoot

Inmate’s suicide at Virginia Beach City Jail goes unreported for a month

4-8-2010 Virginia:

On March 4, inmate Billy Ray Webb, 24, tried to hang himself in the Virginia Beach City Jail. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died the same day, according to police spokeswoman, Officer Margie Hobbs.

Hobbs said that the death was not initially made public due to VBPD policy.

According to court documents, Webb was arrested three days before his death, on March 1, and charged with felony possession of child pornography and felony production, publication, sale or financing of child pornography involving a child younger than 15.

Police took Webb into custody after discovering the pornographic images on his computer.

Webb worked at a Burger King in Virginia Beach and reportedly had no family in the area.

Webb’s was the fifth reported suicide by hanging in the Virginia Beach City Jail since 1999. ..Source.. by Dave Gibson
